Meet Mike Munsey.
Born and raised in Southwest Virginia, Mike began his law practice in Lebanon, Virginia, in 1985. In 1994, he expanded his practice to Tennessee handling cases in all of Southwest Virginia and Upper East Tennessee. Mike has dedicated his legal career to representing the injured and disabled, fighting for the benefits they rightly deserve.
After graduating with honors from the University of Richmond, Mike earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. While in college at Richmond, Mike served as a legislative assistant in the Virginia General Assembly.
During his 30+ years practicing law, Mike has litigated cases in all of the Southwest Virginia and Upper East Tennessee counties. He has earned record breaking jury verdicts for his clients. In recognition of the success he has achieved for his clients, Mike has been inducted as a member of both the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Mike and his wife Margie have two grown children, Heather and Isaac. In his free time, Mike enjoys running and exercise, as well as, family, church and community activities.

Jacqueline C. Hampton
Jacqueline C. Hampton was born and raised in Russell County, Virginia. She has lived in Russell County all her life. She graduated from Castlewood High School where she met her husband, Michael. She and her late husband are the parents of one son, David. She attended Clinch Valley College and Mountain Empire Community College. She graduated Suma Cum Laude in May of 1990 in Legal Assistance. In March of 1990, Jackie began her legal career. She has worked hand in hand with Mike for more than 26 years, assisting him in the handling of personal injury cases and helping clients injured in all types of accidents. Jackie has extensive experience as a litigation paralegal. Today Jackie’s focus includes both personal injury and worker compensations cases. Jackie supports the clients by spending time with each individual, while listening to their concerns and problems. She delights in helping anyone who is in need. She enjoys reading, writing, and traveling to different areas to research family history. She loves going for walks on local trails. Her main joy is her son David and she relishes their time spent together, especially in going on new adventures together.
Jody Mathis graduated from Council High School and continued her education at Southwest Virginia Community College with an Associates Degree in Data Processing. She currently resides in Council with her husband and two daughters. Jody began working with Mike 30 years ago, in his law practice in Lebanon Virginia. Her experience has centered around helping those disabled from the work force. She has extensive experience as a social security paralegal. She has helped thousands of clients obtain their benefits from the Social Security Administration. Jody’s qualities of patience, compassion and understanding along with her many years of experience, allow her to effectively assist and communicate with our disabled clients. Jody managed to balance her full schedule with the home schooling of her two daughters for ten years and she enjoyed the opportunity to be active in the home schooling organization as a test proctor and test site coordinator. In her spare time, she enjoys outside activities, exercising and spending time with her family. She has had the privilege of teaching Sunday school for the past 15 years.
Margie Munsey was raised in Southwest Virginia. She met Mike in 1986 and they married in 1988. While she has worked in restaurant management, banking, and currently as a personal trainer/fitness instructor/fitness retailer, her main focus has been on raising their children and serving community and church. She has a passion for working with children…volunteering as director for children church, vacation bible school, and fun fitness. Margie has had the honor to serve on several boards of directors, including St. Anne’s School, Appalachian Sustainable Development, and Washington County Master Gardens. She has chaired numerous local community annual fundraising events, including the Mid Atlantic Garden Faire…having been one of its founding members.
When Mike opened his Abingdon Law Office, Margie jumped on the opportunity to support her husband and welcomed the new challenge of assisting in the day to day business operations of the firm and supporting his Legal Team. She and Mike together enjoy exercising, restoring historic structures and travel adventures. Margie enjoys cooking with an emphasis on local and healthy ingredients and Loves to study the Bible.
